Mentoring Islamic jurisprudence Students Practical learningAbstract
Islamic jurisprudence competence among students is determined not only by their theoretical knowledge but also by their ability to properly practice ritual purification and prayer. This community service program was motivated by the gap between students’ understanding of Islamic jurisprudence and their practical skills at Madrasah Diniyah Ula Ainul Yaqin, Jiyu, Kutorejo, Mojokerto. The program aimed to improve students’ Islamic jurisprudence competence through guided practice in ritual purification and prayer. The method employed was participatory mentoring using a direct practice approach, consisting of material delivery, demonstration, practice, observation, correction, repetition, and evaluation. The participants were 31 students, comprising 13 male and 18 female students. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests, as well as observation of practical skills. The results showed an improvement in competence, indicated by an increase in the number of students in the good category from 3 students (9.68%) to 23 students (74.19%). The number of students in the good and adequate categories increased from 8 students (25.81%) to 27 students (87.10%). These results demonstrate that practical mentoring is effective in improving Islamic jurisprudence competence and bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and practical skills. This program is important to develop as a sustainable model for strengthening Islamic jurisprudence learning in Madrasah Diniyah
